Living By Faith in Christ

Faith is a major theme in both the Old and New Testaments. Despite the fact that Israel as a nation was called to be God's chosen people, only those who trusted God were covered by that covenant. Outward obedience to the law did not displace devotion, love, and faith in God. Every Old Testament king, prophet, priest, judge and so on, who pleased God did so by faith.

Constantine the Great (b. 272) was a Roman general from Serbia, who became the first Emperor (306-337) of Rome that was a Christian. His father, Constantius, had been Western Emperor, and had refused direct orders to murder innocent Christians solely because of their Faith, which was customary at the time.
