Highway of Holiness

Is there such a thing as holiness? Is it something we can possess or obtain? Do we need holiness? There are just a few questions that come to mind as I ponder this subject. Jesus gave us a commandment to love one another as He has loved us.

We know that the Holy Bible states that Jesus was holy and righteous. He called to His disciples to follow Him.

Highway of Holiness (poem)

Having the heart to walk the righteous path
Ignoring the scorners and hearing the Lord
Giving time and honor to the King of kings
Having the mind of Christ instilled within
Watching and praying while walking the Way
Always mindful of what lies ahead
Yearning to go home to dine at the table of God

Obeying His commands while reaping the benefits of Salvation
Full of the Holy Ghost being led into truth

Honoring the Lord of lords
Oftentimes falling but getting back up to walk again
Living the life of Christ to the best of my ability
Invigorated when He touches me and gives me strength
Needing His presence always in my life
Eager to please my Lord and walk in His ways
Showing His love to me by dying for me on the Cross
Salvation for the taking by confession and belief in Him.

Jesus Christ

Jesus has been discussed, spoken about, sung about, poems have been written about Him. He was beaten, hung on a cross and died there. He was buried and raised Himself from the dead on the third day. He ascended back to heaven on a cloud. We can tell people about Jesus until doomsday, but they will not receive Him until He is revealed to them. God always reveals.

Jesus asked Peter, "Who do people say that I am?" Peter said, "One of the prophets." Jesus then asked Peter, "Who do you think that I am?" Peter stated, "You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God."Jesus replied to Peter, "Blessed are you Simon Son of Jonah for flesh and blood did not reveal this unto you  but my father who is in heaven revealed this to you."

It takes a personal revelation to meet Jesus. Each person will have Jesus revealed to them at some point in their lives. Then a change will take place in them. Some will accept and believe while others reject and get more vile.

Fear No Evil

Psa 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

We are told many times throughout Gods Word to fear not. We are told to not fear what can destroy the body but fear only that which can destroy both body and soul in hell. When we receive Christ as our Savior fear will leave us and peace will settle into our hearts. There are times that fear will try to come back to life in us and at these times we must rebuke fear and cast it back into darkness. The love of God towards all men is enough to cast out any and all f ear that we have.
1Jo 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

What can Satan do to us that would make us so fearful at times? Can he "make" us go to hell where his dwelling place has been reserved? He cannot do anything without God's permission. If we look at Job we will see that God told him to consider Job. God knew that Job would not give in to the devil, but Satan thought he could make Job curse God and die. I know some ask why do we have to go through things like this. I have asked it myself a few times and the answer I get is this.
God already knows what we can or cannot handle. He knows if we are going to make it through or not. He knows what strength we have and he also knows our weaknesses. When Satan comes at us trying to cause us to fear we must stand strong on the Word of God. This is the only way we can gain confidence in God.

I remember a story someone once told me. This man had a son and was at church one night with his son down stairs in the basement. His son was only a little over a year old. They were just sitting watching a mouse going through the hallway. The man tried to put his son down on the floor and the child would have no part of it. He put his legs straight out to keep them off the floor. He tried this a couple of times. The child was fearful because of the mouse he had seen. The man then got up and took his sons hand and walked down the hallway with him. The child was no longer fearful because he had hold of his daddy's hand.

This is how we are with God. If we are alone we will be fearful. We will refuse to walk where we see something we are afraid of. But when we come to Christ fear will leave us, but only if we keep trusting in Him. Jesus will always hold our hand as we walk through the world and everything in this world that could cause us to fear. When we become weak in faith or lack confidence in God we become fearful.

Heb 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

There are times that God will command us to do something that will cause us to fear. Noah was moved with fear to build the ark. He knew if he refused to heed the voice of God that he also would be destroyed with those that were wicked and evil. God will not destroy the righteous with the wicked unless the righteous refuse to come out from way of the wicked. There are many verses that mention fear.

Psa 147:11 The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
Pro 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Pro 1:29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
Pro 1:33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

We see in these verses God speaks about fear. God takes pleasure in those that fear (revere) Him and they that hope in the mercy of God. The fear that one must have toward God is reverence of His might and power. Because God is merciful we can then find grace in His mercy. There are other types of fear also. Fear also means to be scared. If we fear (be afraid) what Satan can do to us then we have no fear of God.

Pro 14:26 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
By fearing the Lord we will have confidence and a place of refuge. We shall have a hiding place when it is needed for us. We need not fear evilness or wickedness anymore. Why are we so fearful of Satan? For what reason do we resist the Lord? Why not accept God's Word for what it is? It is time to stand up and be counted among God's children. It is time to stop being afraid of the devil. It is time to put Satan in his place.

There is no weapon formed against us that shall prosper. Jesus came and died for us so that we no longer are under Satan's power. We have freedom in Jesus Christ. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. (Liberty LIB'ERTY, n. [L. libertas, from liber, free.] 1. Freedom from restraint, in a general sense, and applicable to the body, or to the will or mind. The body is at liberty, when not confined; the will or mind is at liberty, when not checked or controlled. A man enjoys liberty, when no physical force operates to restrain his actions or volition.) Freedom from restraint. This is what liberty is. Who or what can constrain us if we are at liberty?

Satan has no power over us. The spirit of the world has no power over us. There is nothing that we cannot accomplish if we are in Jesus Christ. I can do all things through Christ. What is left to hold us back? The only thing that can hold me back is myself. I have said it many times, I am my worst enemy. Self is selfish and wants everything done its way. But when we crucify self we can then become one with God. We are then a new creature created in Jesus Christ. The time to repent is now. There is no better time than this very moment. I assure you, if you repent, you will not be disappointed.

Prayer

Father God I thank you for this Word that you have given me. I thank you for the whole Word and everything that it means to us. It is my sincere prayer that those that read this Word be moved to draw closer to you. Those that are lost Lord I pray that they will turn their whole lives over to you. I praise you for you are great and powerful. There are none that can stand against you Lord. in Jesus precious and mighty name, AMEN!!!

End Times Dream

May 17, 2015 at approximately 5:30 AM,  I was awakened after having another dream.  In this dream there was fighting among people.  One group was trying to steal food from the other group.  There was one man in particular whom I shot at with my handgun 6 times.  Each time the bullets passed through him.  He could not be killed.

Re-posting after deleting the original.  The video below confirms what I got from my dream.

The food that one group had is the Word of God.  It is for those who believe in Jesus Christ as being the Savior of the world.  Those who do not have the Word are non-believers.  They are trying to take away our spiritual food, because they have none.

The man I tried to kill, most likely, is the devil himself.  The slugs from my handgun have no effect on him at all.  Four times I shot him in the chest and two times in the head.  He kept coming.

In Revelation, chapter 13, it is written that a beast will come to power and his power will be given to him by the dragon.  Many will marvel at the beast and worship the dragon saying, "Who is able to make war against the beast?" (paraphrased)  This beast will fight against believers and will be given the power to overcome them, but not all will fall.

You see, this is where the Spirit comes in.  The gun I used to try and shoot that man in my dream, was a carnal weapon.  Carnal weapons have no affect on spiritual beings.  For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; 2nd Corinthians 10:4.  We must fight with the weapons God has given us for this is what He ordained for us.

As you can see in the video above, Christianity is under attack in the USA.  Evangelicals are considered radical, the AFA, (American Family Association), is considered a hate group much like the KKK, Black Panthers, Neo Nazis and the Nation of Islam.  Does anyone see the reasoning behind this?

Back to Revelation 13, verse 8 states, "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."  There will be some who refuse to bow to the beast and worship him.  These are the ones whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

We must plant our feet on the rock of ages.  A sure footing upon which to stand.  The enemy will come against us and if our feet (faith) are not sure, we will fall.  Do not trust in our own knowledge, but put our trust in the Lord. Proverbs 3:5.  This is how we can overcome the flood that will rage against us.

Do not turn back, but keep pressing toward the mark of the high calling God has put upon you.  Strive for that crown of life that awaits at the end of this earthly life.

Is an Embryo a Human Being?

Been reading a little about abortions and many stances on the subject.  Much of the time the term zygote is used, then the words fetus and embryo.  Some say that life begins only when the baby outside the womb while other say it becomes a human at some point and tine in gestation.

On the website, CARM, a scenario is given.  A man is in an accident, loses both arms and legs, is he still a human, even though he does not resemble one, as we know it.  Suppose he goes into a coma and knows nothing, feels nothing, sees nothing and hears nothing.  Is he still a human being despite all of that?  he is unable to do anything for himself so he is unable to survive without  outside help, is he still a human being?

At what point and time does a fertilized egg inside the womb of a woman become a human being?  Civil discussion is encouraged.  Your thoughts are welcome.

God, Do You Really Hear me?

God does indeed hear the cries of those who pray in the Spirit. Many would want God to answer and hear a prayer merely because He has the ability to give them anything their heart desires. They try to use God like a credit card with no limit and no expiration. They think Him to be a bank who gives and gives as they make their requests.
God will answer prayers. Sometimes the answer is obvious, sometimes not so obvious. God will only hear those prayers made to Him if they are made in the way He has shown us to make them. In other words, He showed us how to pray and expects us to pray that way. If we pray according to our fleshly desires, why should He heed our requests? God is Spirit and must be prayed to and worshiped in Spirit.
King David wrote about how God hears the cries of His people. God's ear is attentive to our cries and requests we make of Him. But as stated above, we must pray in the right way. Jesus showed the disciples how to pray. He said pray after this manner. Our Father, which art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. The word Hallowed in this context means; Holy and sacred. HOLY and SACRED be thy name, could be used in place of Hallowed. We must reverence God first in our prayers. If we do not reverence Him, we merely make noise that reaches only our own ears.
We must put forth the effort that God requires of us to have our prayers answered. Sometimes the answer isn't instant, and it may seem it is taking forever, but the answer will come to you.

The Man in the Middle

Do you know the Man in the middle?  The Man who lived a sinless life but gave His life and tasted death just so others can have life eternal.

The Holy Bible declares Jesus to be the One who can save us from the sting of death and hell.  There is no other name under Heaven, given among men, whereby we can be saved.  Acts 4:12

If you do not know this Man, I urge you to meet Him.  I plead with you that you will come to Him now and repent of your sins, so you can likewise be given eternal life.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Another Gospel?

Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. This is very straightforward. Anyone or being who preaches any gospel beside the gospel of Christ will be accursed.

The word accursed; (ACCURS'ED, pp. or a. 1. Doomed to destruction or misery: The city shall be accursed. John 6. 2. Separated from the faithful; cast out of the church; excommunicated. I could wish myself accursed from Christ. 3. Worthy of the curse; detestable; execrable. Keep from the accursed thing. Josh 6. Hence, 4. Wicked; malignant in the extreme.) Who would want to be accursed? I would say no one wants to be accursed, but yet it seems so many preach a different gospel.

Paul thought this to be a very important instruction for the church. He even stated it again in the very next verse. Gal 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. Many might say that Paul had no idea what he was talking about. Then others might say that the Bible has been changed so much that it can't be true. Yet others will say that the Bible is a book of fairy tales and means nothing at all.

There are many who claim to know Christ, but yet they don't show that they really know Him. Many different messages are preached every day by different people. Some preach that all beliefs are the same. They say that each culture has it's own word or name for God. I could believe this except for one thing. Other cultures have a different personality in their god.

It is possible that many say these things because they want other men and women to accept them and what they teach or preach. What they preach mostly is that God's way isn't good enough for them. They must make their own way to God, thereby sealing up their own fate. When a person thinks himself or herself higher than God or their way better than God's way, they are equal to Satan. Satan wanted to put his throne above the throne of God. We all know what happened don't we. Iniquity was found in Satan and was the cause for sin to enter in.

Where Does the Gospel Come From?

Gal 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

Gal 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

Gal 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

The Gospel of Christ was revealed not by man, but by the Holy Ghost. Until the Gospel is revealed to a person, it cannot be preached or taught by the person. I had to have a revelation myself before I could understand anything about Jesus. It is this way for everyone. Many received the revelation of Christ, but have moved on to different gospels. I am sure there are many reasons for this to happen, but in the end, God knows more about it than I do. Those who have moved to preach different gospels will be accursed.

Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

We can see that the gospel of Christ came through Christ and not by man. If we search back in the scriptures we can find that this same gospel was preached in the Old Testament. Abraham heard the gospel of Christ. (Gen 22:18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. Gal 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. )

The gospel also brings about good tidings and great joy for all people. (Luk 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. ) There are many other examples of the gospel being revealed. I don't believe there is a need to show all of them. I believe everyone can understand from what I have shown here.

So why is it that so many different gospels are being preached? Why is it so hard for so many to see that Jesus died for their sins and wants them to repent? Why is it that so many would seemingly rather believe what they created in their own heart than what God commanded? (2Co 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. ) The lost are blind to this gospel. They will remain blind until their eyes are opened. The god of this world is the one who has them blinded. Satan is the god of this world. He is called the prince of the powers of the air also.

What is the Gospel of Christ?

So what exactly is the gospel of Christ? It is very simple really. Men make it complicated usually because they can't believe how simple it really is. The gospel is found in the Word of God. (Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ) Think about what is revealed here. God loved the whole world. He loved it so much that He gave us His Son. Whosoever believes in the Son should not perish. The lost will perish. God said they would and He never lies.

One thing many seem to miss in this verse. Whosoever believes in Him. All are forgiven, but we must believe in Him, then we can have everlasting life. ( Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. ) Jesus didn't come to condemn. He came to save. We can know from the Word that condemnation has already come to the world.

Jesus is the way out of condemnation. He is the only way. I know many won't believe this, but it is true whether they believe it or not. (Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. ) Those who believe are not condemned, but those who believe not are condemned still. The only way for condemnation to be removed is to believe in Jesus Christ wholly and completely.

I wrote a song recently and I think it is good to put here on this hub also. I believe everyone deserves an opportunity to come to Jesus. It is for this cause that He gave His life for you.

Won't You Come

He can take the filthy garment and give you a robe of white

He can take away all your sins and give you a brand new life

He can set you on a solid rock where you'll be able to stand

His grace is enough to renew each and every man

Won't you come, won't you come

Give the burdens of your life to Him won't you come

Won't you come, won't you come

No one loves you like he does, won't you come.

He can take away your hard heart and give you a heart of flesh

No more your soul to wander in Jesus you'll find rest

He can take away all your fears and give you peace so sweet

Just come and bow before the Lord humbly at His feet

Won't you come, won't you come

Give the burdens of your life to Him won't you come

Won't you come, won't you come

No one loves you like he does, won't you come.

He can take away all your fears and give you peace so sweet

Just come and bow before the Lord humbly at His feet

Why do I call Him God?

Just a few of my thoughts on the subject. I will add more later as they come.

I call Him God because He created everything seen and unseen.

I call Him God because His grace is sufficient for every man who will accept it.

I call Him God because He lived just as I live today.

He poured His spirit into the body of a man and walked as a man, feeling all of the infirmities of a man.

He left the habitation of heaven to live on the earth.

He was tempted just as we are all tempted and defeated the temptations.

He can identify with us, because he became one of us. This is why I call Him God.

He listens to me when I need to speak with Him. He hears me and answers according to His judgment which is righteous and true, for He knows all things.

He provides me with everything I need, and even more because He is rich beyond our imaginations. Everything in the heavens and in the earth belong to Him.

He cares for me so much that he took my sins upon His back.

He became sin, just so that I might have a chance to make it into heaven instead of hell.

I call Him God because he holds everything in His hands. He hung the earth on nothing and poured the stars out to where they now are.

Yes I call Him God because he is able to defeat anyone or anything that comes against me. Nothing can stand against Him.

I call Him God because there is none higher than He. No one can stand against Him and He defeats all my enemies for me. He protects all that are His.

He smooths the rough places and makes straight the crooked road.

He always judges righteously. He is always good and knows everything that is known.

Now I ask you, "Why do you call Him God?"

When I Cross that River

The Singing Cookes and the Cooke Brothers are coming to our church today and I thought it would be good to make a post about them.  This family is a great family.  They are not snobby or stuck up.  They are truly humble and treat everyone like they are family, as we are commanded to do.

What I would like to ask you is, "What are you planning on doing when you cross that river?"  I know many will say they want to see mom and/or dad or any other loved one that went on before.  I am sure I want to see my family members also but the One who saved me is the One I want to see most of all.

There is no doubt that we will have no time limits in Heaven and we will be able to see and view everything there is to see.  Can you imagine how great it is going to be?  Forever in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.  No more sadness, no sickness, no pain, only joy and happiness for all eternity.  I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't want to be happy at all times no matter what.

If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Savior, I urge you to consider coming to Him and giving Him your heart, souls and every part of your being.

The Word of the Lord

And the Word of the Lord came unto me saying. . .   These days it seems no one wants to hear what the Lord has to say.  Even believers in Christ shy away from the true Word of God.  They justify their lifestyles by their own feelings and emotions.  They rarely believe what is actually written in the Holy Bible.

I realize there is a lot in the Bible that is hard to swallow, but we must take it all in.  We cannot make it by picking and choosing what we want.  It is easy to accept the benefits God has for us.  I mean, who wouldn't want to be blessed constantly with everything necessary for our lives?  Too many don't even think about the price we must pay.

We tend to forget that the Lord said, "Be ye holy for I am holy."  Or that Paul wrote, "Without holiness, no man shall see God."  We want to see Him but we want to stay as close to the world as possible.

Moses was a man called of God.  He led the children of Israel out of Egypt and bondage.  It is easy to remember the Exodus but what about before?  Even though he could have had everything Egypt had to offer, Moses chose to stay true to who he was.  This decision eventually caused him to live on the back side of the desert for forty(40) years.  He paid a price for his decision to follow after God.

What price have you paid lately?  Have you given God everything?  If not, don't you think it is time to take God at His word instead of manipulating the Word to mean what you want it to mean?

God is not a man that He should lie.  Everything that comes from the mouth of God is always the truth.  Jesus said, "Man shall not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God."

Mother's Day Tribute to All Mothers

Pro 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

Virtuous women are hard to find but when one is found, she is worth more than diamonds and rubies.  My mother was a virtuous woman.  She cared for her children and put them first in her life before her own needs.  She gave birth to eleven children and cared for us all tirelessly.

I am sure it wasn't always easy, in fact, I am sure it was never easy, but she went on anyway.  A hard worker with the mindset that she was going to do what was necessary for her family.

My mother died on November 8, 1998.  She fought the dreadful disease of cancer but eventually, she lost the battle.

Poems About Mom

Tree of Love

Battered and beaten, He walked the harsh course.
Women wailed with sorrow, full of remorse.
"Daughters of Jacob, weep not for me.
My project is to die on the Love Tree."

"Weep for yourselves, and your children's sake
In what I do, only I can partake.
The time has now come, for me to depart,
But great blessings for all I will impart."

"When everything is concluded and done,
They will then know that I am the one.
It was planned out by my Father above
That I alone die, on this Tree of Love."

"Only through my death can life come to you
Obedience to Him is all I can do
I am the Lamb so innocent and free
I'll give up the ghost while on the Love Tree"

Luk 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Luk 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
