How Can Two Walk Together Unless They Agree?

Introduction

Amo 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
Is it even possible for two people to walk together unless they first agree on where they want to go? In the day and time we live in, it seems everyone wants to go to the same place, but no one wants to walk with another. They want to do it on their own. They say every road leads to heaven. Heaven is not Detroit or Chicago. There are many roads that lead to these cities, but Heaven is not a city built with hands of men.
Even in the church there are lots of disagreements and splits taking place on a daily basis. The church is supposed to be the body of Christ, but it seems more like many times it is a body of division. Hardly anyone can get along with others in the same body. (Mat 5:30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. ) If the right hand offends, cut it off. This is a very radical statement made by Jesus Himself. Is He telling us to cut off our hand if it does something it isn't supposed to do?
Jesus is speaking of the church or body of Christ. Those which are the hand, will be cut off "if it offends" the whole body. This is what Jesus is talking about in the scriptures. Many believe Jesus will refuse to judge. They believe Him to be tookindhearted to judge. Think about this. If a judge allows murderers and rapists to go free despite overwhelming evidence proving their guilt, is that judge a good judge? I would hardly think so and if anybody does think so, there is something wrong with their thinking. God said judgement is coming to the world. In fact, judgement has already been pronounced. (Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.) To be condemned already is not a good thing to be.

Unity is Necessary

Can we dwell in unity if we all go separate ways? Is it even possible for unity to be in a divided body? If the head says go left but the body goes right, is that unity? The body can only do what the head tells it to do, but if a part of the body refuses to do what the head says to do, it is of no use to the body. If the hand refuses to do what the head says, what should the head do to the hand? All parts of the body must work together. Each part has a different function or task to do.
Take the feet for instance. If the right foot wants to go left and the left wants to go right, which way does the body go? Of course we know that it is impossible. Wherever the body goes the rest must follow or get cut off and left behind. The body was created to work in unity, not separately. Looking at the body we can know how God wants it to work. Jesus Christ is the head without a doubt. Some will make up the rest of the body piece by piece until the body is complete.
Just as Jesus is the head of the body, Pastors are the head of their respective congregations. God is the one who calls Pastors, not man. The job of the Pastor is never ending and it takes a very special person to pastor also. One must have experience with God, wisdom which comes by God, patience which works in all of us, but most of all a Pastor must have the love of God within him. Love alone can't do the job, but without love the job cannot be done properly.

Different Parts of the Body

Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
Eph 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Not all are called to Pastor. Some are called to prophesy, others to teach, some to evangelize, etc. . . Each individual person in the body of Christ has a work to do. The gifts of the Spirit must be working in the body also. All nine spiritual gifts will not usually work at the exact same time, but they will all work for edifying of the body. The gifts are to bring the body together as one body, but stretches throughout the world reaching to all of God's children who trust and believe in Him.
Now we are back to the original question. Can two walk together, except they be agreed? It is impossible for two to walk together when in disagreement. Here is the point, it doesn't matter if you agree with me or not. My opinion means nothing really because it is merely my opinion. Many say they walk with Jesus but walk with other entities also. There is only one God and he only made One Way. So if you disagree with Jesus and the Word of God, you cannot walk with Him.
Prayer
It is my prayer, Lord,. that those who read this are touched by your hand. If they know you, Lord I pray that their walk is strengthened by the Word you gave me. If they are lost Lord, I pray that they might come to knowledge of you and decide to walk with you in agreement. Let everything be done to your glory, Lord Jesus. Amen
